Muhammad Musa Albazi (Rahimahullah) - Shaikh-ul-Hadith Wat Tafseer Maulana

Hazrat Maulana Muhammad Musa AlBazi was the founder of Jamia Muhammad Musa Albazi. He was born in Dera Ismail Khan, N.W.F.P., Pakistan. He became orphan at the age of seven. His mother raised him in very difficult circumstances. His mother, who was a pious and noble lady, prepared her little son to dedicate himself for learning, teaching and spreading the knowledge of Islam according to the will of his father Maulana Sher Mohammad (rahimahullah).

Sheikh Muhammad Musa Albazi rahimahullah traveled a lot in search of Hadith and for other branches of Islamic knowledge at places like Quetta, Akora Khattak and Multan. His class fellows would always say that they hardly seen him taking rest or even a nap.

He often use to say to his pupils, “I worked very hard to gain this knowledge because I wanted to be on the peak on the subjects of Tafseer, Hadith, Mantik, Adab, Islamic Philosophy, Islamic History, Islamic Astronomy, Sarf & Nahv. He said many times to his students, when I was a student at Akorra Khattak, I use to take my food, lamp and blanket at night and use to go to the desert to study there. From there, I use to come back at Fajar time. He was well versed in Arabic and the Persian language at a very young age.

Shaikh ul Hadith Maulana Muhammad Musa Albazi (rt) was considered an authority on Islam. As an erudite scholar and a profound Islamic writer, he wrote over 250 valuable Islamic Books on the subjects including Tafseer, Hadith, Fiqh, Mantik, Adab, Philosophy, History, Islamic Astronomy, Sarf, Nahv etc. He wrote more than 40 books on Islamic Astromomy. Many of his books were given the best religious books ever by the Govt. of Punjab.

His book named "Riyaz-us-Sunan" in which he explains the meanings of the Hadiths of “Al Jam-e-Tirmidhi” consist of fifty volumes. Similarly his book “Asmaarut Takmeel” in which he explains the meanings/commentary of the Tafseer "Al Baizawee" (this Tafseer is taught in the Islamic Universities of the Pakistan and other world) is consist of forty five volumes. Another of his book named "Fathullah" is about the single word "Allah". This book is in Arabic Language & in two large volumes consists of more than 1300 pages. In this book he explains that Almighty Allah is the Greatest as well as His name. (i-e.) the word “Allah” is also the Greatest name ever appeared in the History. By seeing his book named “Fath-us-Samad” (where he mentioned more than 600 names of Lion in the shape of Poetry), Jamia Islamia (Madina University), Madina Munawarah offered him to accept a PhD degree for this book. He refused the offer saying, I didn’t write this book for worldly degrees but for the pleasure of Almighty Allah swt.

This is a rare accomplishment and indeed a remarkable achievement. He was conferred the title of Raees-ul-Muhaditheen, Pakistan (the biggest scholar of Hadith) in Pakistan.

He spent all of his life among books, in teaching Hadith, Tafseer, Fiqh & in producing Islamic scholars. Most of his books are in Arabic language, some are in Persian & Urdu languages. His every book proved to be a splendid work in Islamic Research. His books get great attention & appreciation from the Islamic Scholars, especially the scholars of the Arab World. They were astonished by his knowledge of Quran, Hadith, Fiqh & Astronomy & his skills in Arabic. All of them confessed that the books written by Sheikh Musa appears to be an Art-piece of Islamic knowledge & Arabic Literature.

Whenever his books were presented to Great Arab Scholars, most of them use to ask, " Is the author of these books alive? Certainly he is the scholar of this century. They said that from his research work & astonishing skills in Arabic literature, this author appears to be a Unique Islamic Scholar of several hundred years ago”.

The importance & preciousness of his books can be observed from the fact that few of his books were taught even in his life time in the Islamic universities of Pakistan & Iran. His books named “Falakiyaat-e-Jadeedah, Al Hae’at-us-Sughra, Al Hae’at-ul-Wustaa, Al Hae’at-ul-Kubra” are the part of the curriculum of wifaqul Madaris in Pakistan for the past many years.

Sheikh Muhammad Musa Albazi rahimahullah taught Hadith for 46 years of his life and produced more than 10,000 Islamic scholars in his lifetime belong to countries including Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, UK, North America, Afghanistan, Iran, India, Bangladesh, Uganda, South Africa, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Nepal, Kenya, Russia, Egypt etc. Al Hamdulillah, at present, his students are present all over the world and serving the Deen.

Hazrat Maulana Muhammad Musa Albazi (rt) suffered a severe heart attach while offering Asr prayer on October 19, 1998 (Monday) and departed from this world at the age of 63 (Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Illaihi Raji’un). The news of his sad devise very soon reached all across Pakistan and from there to the whole world of Islam. Hundreds and thousands of people attended his funeral prayer in Lahore with cries and tears in their eyes. He was buried in Mayani sahib graveyard, Lahore, Pakistan.

Perfumed fragrance came out from his grave for About 8 months
Shaikh-ul-Hadith wal Tafseer Maulana Muhammad Musa Albazi was indeed the Islamic Scholar of the century. It proves not only through his dedication to Islam but also his miraculous departure from this world.

	While he was on the death bed, around 30 students and scholars were present at that time in his room. All of a sudden, he asked everybody to recite Kalimah (Al Shahadah) loudly with him. Every body started following him and while reciting Kalima Al Shahada, his soul was taken. According to the views of scholars, they neither read nor heard about this kind of departure of someone to the world hereafter, where a dying person advise others to recite Kalima (Al Shahada) with him. Normally the surrounded people ask dying person to do so. No doubt, this is one of the miracles of this Shaikh.

	When he was buried in Mayani Sahib Grave yard, a perfumed fragrance started coming out from his grave and spread all over the area. This perfumed fragrance was continuously coming out from his grave for about eight months. Thousands & thousands of people came to witness that grave and smelled this fragrance of paradise. According to Islamic scholars, Maulana Muhammad Musa Albazi was the third person of Islamic history from whose grave the perfumed fragrance came out. This is certainly his acceptance in the sight of Almighty Allah swt.
